Assisted Living - Reimagined

Bob never planned on building and operating luxury assisted living homes. As a career entrepreneur and builder, he’s spent more than 40 years acquiring and developing real estate throughout New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts. Eventually his interest brought him to Phoenix, where in 2010 he bought an investment property in Paradise Valley. The house was operated as an assisted living group home. Within three short years after purchasing the property the management company went under. Bob received a phone call stating that the current operators took all of the income and left the house with no food and they did not pay the caregivers. Bob could not stand the thought of seeing the elderly residents displaced, so he took over management of the care home and hired a team of seasoned professionals to run day-to-day operations. In doing, so he realized that he could combine his vision as a builder developer and incorporate that into a luxury assisted living company known today as Paradise Living Centers. Bob is a hands-on local owner who gets to know the residence and their family. He works closely with his team to make sure they maintain the highest level of residence care. In 2014, he renovated the original Paradise Valley location. In 2016, he built a new group home in North Central Phoenix and in 2018 he expanded once again building a third location in the Arcadia area of Phoenix. In 2019, he will complete construction on his fourth home, a second location in Paradise Valley. As a local owner, Bob oversees operations and management of the four locations, each with 10 private bedrooms.

I am an internal medicine, geriatric, palliative care, home health and hospice physician in Arizona. I graduated in 2006, having over 16 years of diverse experience, especially in elderly group home care and management. In 2007, I did a residency at the Cleveland Clinic in the state of Ohio. I am affiliated with numerous hospitals in the Phoenix Area, including Banner Baywood Medical Center, St Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, West Valley Hospital to mention a few.

I have extensive background and certification in Geriatric medicine, Palliative, and hospice care. I participate in terminal care along with the hospice team.

One of my top priorities is to ensure that my team is cognizant in working with new practices and develop a transition plan that creates a sense of ease for everyone. It is that respect coupled with passion and professionalism that makes me a unique, strong businessperson and a great doctor.

Kerri Masengale, with 43 years of experience, has spent the entirety of her career working in skilled nursing facilities and group homes. Her work has included writing policies and procedures for group home companies, auditing group homes and resident/employee files for compliance with rules and regulations, teaching mandatory trainings to provider staffs and their management teams.

In 2005, Kerri was hired by a company that had been served a Notice of Cure, to audit their company, write new policy and procedures, audit all group homes and resident files and to train all executives as well as managers and staff how to serve the company and its residents in a safe and compliant manner.

In 2012 Kerri was approached by another company who was struggling in the group home department and suffered in many areas of the survey process. Kerri and her team brought all group homes into full compliance and continued to receive full compliance survey scores during Kerri’s 8 years with the company.

With the experience of working at all levels in the Group Home field, in 2019 Kerri began her own consulting company and consulted with new as well as established group home companies. Kerri’s role as consultant was to educate the owners on contracts, policies, and procedures, securing Department of Health (DHS) licenses for the homes and surveying of programs and employee files to ensure survey ready compliance.

In 2022, Kerri and her partner became the owner of Paradise Living Centers.
